I have been a Natural Witch all my life. I found my true path 3 years ago, the path of a Christian Witch, with a dash of Native American beliefs thrown in. My connection with The Creator has set my spirit free and has allowed much growth in a short time in all aspects of my life. Water is my element and as such others turn to me for help with cleansings and groundings. I have a fondness for Tarot and my strength is in readings with the Native American Tarot by Star Spider Woman. Myself and my husband of 18 years live in Tennessee and are kept busy following our 3 sons to the many sporting events they are involved in. I myself am an avid runner.

Water, Waves, and Witches
By Ocalee Do you ever find yourself walking aimlessly by the seaside? Or sitting by a pond staring deep into the water? Does your soul feel at peace by the lakeside? As your feet rest in the swallow bed of a creek do you feel a cleansing power as the water drifts by? These scenes can be calming and empowering, and if you’re a Water Witch these are the places on which you draw your power. Creeks, lakes, or the vast oceans can be a form of comfort or immense energy for the Witch who associates with the element of Water. Storms can also be a source of inspiration. And snow; snow can be the best friend to a Water Witch who finds herself in a magickal bind during the winter months.
The element of water offers much to one who wishes to accept its gifts. Listening to the sounds of water can bring calm to the restless soul. A massive amount of energy can be found while meditating on the sheer power of our Sister Water. While cleansing can be found in it’s movements. Much soul searching has taken place by the watersides. The water invites it, beckoning to the person who has the courage to look. The Water Witch knows this and can feel the pull deep within their heart.
Water is ever moving, never resting, finding its way into all nooks and crannies.
Water is also associated with emotions. Water Witches are very much the same. An active lifestyle finds them forever busy. Sometimes busy with nothing but busy just the same. It is rare that you will find a Water Witch taking it easy. She must always have something to do.
A Water Witch, like her element is flexible and able to roll with the tide of life. Usually she holds her emotions, whatever they might be, in perfect balance, but she is always on the edge of overflowing. If that emotion is love count yourself lucky. Water Witches have a fierce loyalty for those they love. However, if you’ve found yourself on their bad side, it’d be best to stand clear till the rush of emotion is over. Afterwards, you’d be well advised to tread lightly.
Water sustains all life and as such Water Witches tend to find themselves laden with responsibilities. She takes them on and completes them never complaining, but she does this at a cost. Her soul longs to be free and moving far away from the realities of life. This isn’t saying that she doesn’t love her family and friends but that from time to time the drudgery of every day life will take it’s toll upon one who associates with the element of water.
Just as water is inviting so is the Water Witch. I mean, who doesn’t love to spend an afternoon on the lake or at the beach. People love to picnic on the river or by their local creek. Water Witch’s are a friendly bunch and usually have friends from all over and from many different walks of life. But, come evening the picnickers back up and go home. So more often than not the Water Witch feels alone. This is simply her nature and something she accepts as a way of life.
This type lifestyle can be very stressful causing strain on ones emotions. Just as water has highs and lows so does the Witch who associates with the element of Water. Moodiness however is not something that a Water Witch likes to admit to but this is certainly a part of their personality.
Clutter is a Water Witches worst enemy. She loves a well-kept home, car and work area. But because of her busy life style sometimes this area can fall into chaos. She sometimes finds it hard to keep with it all and the cleaning falls by the wayside. This can wreak havoc on the water witch. Just as clutter can dam up a waterway, clutter and mess can dam up the Water Witches mental, emotional and magickal flow. She will often overlook the mess thinking that soon some spare time will come her way and she can get things back in order. Soon hardly ever comes and so the mess and clutter continue to build until she can no longer stand it. At that time everything else is put on hold and the cleaning begins with a vengeance. Much like a spring flood. Before long her space is back in order, the dam is broken and all can flow again.
Do you suspect that you have a friend or two that might be a Water Witch? It is very possible. Just as water is everywhere, inland and at sea, so are Water Witches. If your friend enjoys wearing dolphins pendants or maybe has a mermaid tattoo that could be a dead give-away as these are the most common symbols associated with Water Witches. But, many of us don’t opt for the usual. Watch for creek stones, glass collections, or seashells, to be scattered throughout their living quarters or work area. Blues and sparkly objects also tend to be favored by these people. Spirit Animals might also point to the Water Witch. If you know someone who claims the turtle, fish, or otter as their Spirit Animal you might just know a Water Witch.
